DIY Modern Artwork you can Achieve

Artwork can be so pricey, but it doesn’t have to be. I am not an artist and I won’t try and lie to you and say I am. But this artwork can be achieved by anyone that can use a paintbrush to fill in the lines.

I started this project by picking up two 30×40 inches canvases, an 8.45 oz Mars Black acrylic paint bottle, a standard paint brush and painters tape from Michaels. I had my husband help me measure out where I was going to put each shape. We used a 5 gallon bucket from Lowes for the circle in the middle and then planed out the squares and trapezoid around the circle size.
I didn’t paint the white canvas, instead painted the black shapes inside the painters tape for one canvas and then painted around the outside for the other canvas. You do need to be careful doing this so you don’t get any paint on the white because there isn’t really a way to get it off. I applied 2 coats of paint letting each dry between.

Then for Christmas Jonathan was gifted a miter saw and we were able to start on the frames. We picked up 3/4 inch trim molding from Lowes, painted it black and then used a nail gun to secure it in place.

I am so excited with how it turned out, what do you think?
