Goodbye 2016

I hope you all are having a great relaxing week before 2017 starts.
This year has been one crazy ride and I have enjoyed (almost) all of it. We started off 2016 with welcoming Wesley into the world at 2:18am on the 1st. From that day on it has been a joy to see him grow, develop, get a personality and see how affectionate he has become. Half way through this year we moved from DC to South Carolina. Moving was a big transition due to moving back in with our parents, with a new born/baby and dogs. I can't say how appreciative I am for the love that has been shown to us from Jonathan's and my family.
2017, I am excited to see what things you will hold. One thing that is going to be taking up a lot of my time (besides Wesley) will be starting to build our "forever" home. We have finalized our floor plan and now we are on to talking to the bank. Somedays, I think we are crazy for doing a project like this and can't believe we are lucky enough to build our dream house. Be on the look out for posts about finishings and  updates on the construction process. I may even need a bit of help when fixtures are going to be purchased. I can be indecisive from time to time and always could use a second opinion on what will be big decisions.

Now onto this post! My sister had a great time traveling down to Charleston for some much needed time together. We left the kids at home with the hubbies and took off.
I am starting to take on camouflage, now that I am back in the south. I am not going to lie, this has been a style that I have had a bit of a fear of. If you pair it wrong it can look off and not stylish. I finally got the courage up,  I love how it turned out, now I keep pulling this jacket out of the closet. The best part about this jacket is that it is under $40!

Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Years

TOP | SKIRT (now 60% off) | HEELS | SUNGLASSES (now ONLY $10)  | WATCH

Christmas is now complete, crazy how fast it came and went. Now I am sharing my NYE inspiration. Sequins and glitter are such fun things to pull out of your closet to wear on the big night. This skirt is now 60% off and so cute to be able to wear dressed up or down. You can throw on a turtleneck like I have above, put a fluffy sweater with it or a fun party crop top for the perfect night out look.
I am pretty excited for this New Years Eve!! Last year we had plans but ended up in the hospital getting ready to welcome Wesley into the world. It was a crazy night but can't say that I would't do it all over again to be able to be that sweet boys mom. A little look back, now on to fun plans this year. We will be cheering Clemson on in the playoffs and then hopefully sneaking out after the baby goes to bed! :)

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and Happy New YEARS to each of you!

'Tis the season for FAMILY

DRESS | SHOES | BANGLE (now on sale) | WATCH
Family is such a blessing and this time of year it is great to be able to spend as much time together as possible. As many of you know, Jonathan is away for business a lot and we really only see him on the weekends. This month has been such a special one because he has been able to be with us each day and it will stay that way until after the new year. We have taken all of the advantages of having him home and have gotten some much needed family photos. We had such a great time all together! This shoot was a family affair, my sister was our photographer and my dad was there to make sure Wesley gave some cute smiles.
Wesley did give some cute smiles and I was so proud how well he did! Also how cute is his outfit!!! I have shopped many places for his clothes but I always end back at target. They have such adorable pieces that I don't feel bad over shopping, because they are such great prices and since he will out grow everything so fast. We also just got these converse slip ons this week and he hasn't taken them off. I read that if he gets used to wearing shoes and starts to stand in them more, that walking is easier to pick up. We are praying that it is a true statement and we can get him walking by his first birthday (only 2 weeks away)!
I hope everyone is having a great week and getting to spend time with the ones they love!
From the Mishoe family we hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

xoxo...Beth, Jonathan & Wesley

Shopping can be crazy this time of year and finding the perfect things for the perfect people can be tricky. For me, my perfect lady/ladies are my sister and my mom and I love shopping for them and there really is no better gift then seeing their faces when they open their presents. So I have put together some great ideas for whomever is your perfect lady in your life. From a must have faux fur throw from H&M, to a timeless scent with this CHANEL perfume, to my favorite J.crew turtle neck, this list has things from great price points that won't break the bank.
I hope everyone is doing great with their holiday list and having a great holiday season.
xoxo...beth .

Hello Christmas

The holiday spirit is in the air and I couldn't be more in LOVE with this time of year. From the lights, to the wrapping paper, MUSIC, being able to buy gifts for your loved ones and of course the reason for the season.
I have to admit that I have already bought and wrapped most of my presents. My goal is usually to be done shopping by Thanksgiving, I almost got there but I am finishing up a couple of people. I think everyone has those family members/friends who have everything and it's hard to find the perfect gift. I am going to be putting together a gift guide for the 'hard to shop for' friend. This turtle neck will be on it, because this is the perfect staple for any closet and you can't have enough of them. I am just starting to experiment more with layering and I fell in love with this ASOS tank just for that reason. Do you all play around with layering in your everyday wardrobes?

Denim & Bandanas

I have a few weaknesses and denim happens to be one of them. I own more denim than I can count and they all range in price. I can't tell you how much I love this pair of denim!! I own them in two different colors and the BEST part is that they are less than $25. I think I would even buy another pair if they came out with them in another color. They have the perfect amount of stretch for my mom bod and they also wear very well!
I have been dying to wear sweaters but it is so hard when we still are having 80 degree weather. It looks like the cool front is on the way and I can't wait to pull out all of my cold weather items out. So be ready to see lots of coat, sweater and scarf posts soon!

The hubby has officially made his debut on the blog. He is usually behind the lens but today he took center stage. Jonathan has been in love with this wood watch for over the past year, because they are so light weight and perfect to dress up or down. He has been giving me hints that it would be the perfect gift for him. So he was super excited when we teamed up with JORD Wood Watches, Jonathan's dream watch to share how you can also have one. You can enter here to sign up to win a $75 e-gift code to JORD WOOD Watches. If you don't win the big prize you still are a winner, because just for signing up, you will get $20 off your purchase of any watch.  (JORD makes great women and men's watches and as Jonathan would tell you, "they are the perfect gift.")
If you can't tell, we had a lot of fun taking pictures together. Jonathan isn't much for pictures, but once we got out there we had a good time laughing and making silly faces at each other between takes. I think you will see some more 'couple' posts in the future. And not to worry, Wesley will be back also, he was just taking a nap. :)

DRESS | JACKET | HEELS | SUNGLASSES (limited time 25% off) | LIPS
Wesley: TOP | DENIM

I still can't believe that we are half way through October and I am already having to think about Wesley's first halloween costume. I can't wait to do a post on what he will be wearing (it is still in the construction stages). In the mean time, I have gotten him some fun things to wear all month long leading up to halloween. To be honest, Jonathan and I have never been big on this holiday but having a child can make one's perspective on things change. You get to see things through a child's eyes, with all the fun and excitement to go along with it.
P.S. Please don't judge me on how much I wear these shoes; I love them so much and they just go with everything, the perfect staple heel.

TOP (under $25) | JEANS | SUNNIES (splurge, now 25% off) | HEELS (also on sale) | WATCH | BRACELET | CUFF | HANDBAG (look alike) | JACKET

Leather, Leather, one of my favorite things about FALL. I have had this leather jacket for over five years and I have paired it with so many outfits (see some of my favorites here & here). It is still such a staple and if you are on the fence about investing in a leather moto jacket, think no longer and just pull the trigger. I promise you won't regret it. I am about to splurge on another moto jacket in suede, what do you think?
The detailing on the top didn't come out in the above pictures as well as I would have hoped. It can be tricky taking pictures now a days, the lighting isn't always perfect when we can get out. Like most parents we have to schedule our days around when the baby's nap schedule. I will post some more up close and detail shots of the top on my instagram for you all to see also.
I hope today is a great one for everyone and HAPPY October!

Southern Fall

SHIRT (under $8) | SKIRT | HEELS (on sale) | WATCH | SUNGLASSES

This little boy just makes my heart smile. He is such a happy go-lucky little man that rolls with the punches. He has now been to over thirteen states and is only eight months old. (You can follow Wesley and our travels on his instagram) My husband travels ALL OVER for work and for us to be tougher, Wesley and I go with him. For someone his age having to adapt to traveling and being on the road so much, I am just so proud of him. These little sunnies that Wesley is wearing are great for traveling and for all babies in general. They are truly unbreakable, you can bend them, chew them and they hold up great. I am about to invest in another pair; I think the black mirrored pair this time, so he can match me?

When we are on the road so much, it is great to be able to dress up a bit when we are home. So I try to make a point to pull out a skirt or blouse to feel a bit more put together. This is skirt is meant for summer is meant for summer, but why not transition it into Fall? We ARE in the south and it is still 90 degrees at the end of September. I think it's going to be a hot Fall and I just hope pray we aren't putting up our Christmas tree in shorts again this year.

camo shirt jacket $38

comfort is not overrated

SHIRT (under $40) | DENIM SHORTS (under $50 & 30% off)  | SUNGLASSES (under $23) | SNEAKERS | BACKPACK | LIPS

Sneakers are a staple in my outfits now and these converse slip ons are the best. Having a baby in my arms and trying to bend over to tie my shoes, it's no good. So I have figured out ways to incorporate outfits around flats and slip on sneakers. If you would have told me last year that I would be wearing backpacks and sneakers and not wearing heels and dresses every day, I probably would have laughed at you. It is true that style changes with life events and Wesley for sure is a life event! I sure do love being able to be comfortable though, while chasing him around the house, telling him, "Don't climb on that, don't put your fingers in there and don't pull on the dog's ears!" (poor Chloe).

currently craving (fall splurge & save)

Details: 1. tortoise sunglasses | 2. wide brim hat (40% off) | 3. watch | 4. long scarf | 5. lip stain | 6. backpack | 7. low heel sandals (under $80 + 25% off) | 8. card wallet | 9. double bridge tortoise sunglasses (under $13)

Fall is almost upon us and I for one am so excited. It happens to be my favorite time of year, the leaves or changing, being outdoors is fun again and LAYERING is back. Nothing is better to me then getting to throw a scarf on and a light jacket to run errands.

I have put some of my must haves and wants together above. These steve madden heels are going to be having a new home soon. They are perfect for fall with a pair of skinny denim, long sleeve tee and of course a scarf.
What is your favorite things about fall? There are so many and I always like finding more things to love about this season.

new beginnings

DENIM (under $25)| TOP | SUNGLASSES (splurge) | BACKPACK | HEELS (under $80)

I am excited for being able to relaunch the blog this week.
SETTLING SOUTHERN, the name comes from moving back south and planting roots to stay. I am a midwesterner and now I will be officially a southerner. Settling Southern only seems fit for this next chapter in life. This rebranding will be place where all aspects of my life can live. I will be sharing with you all (y'all) what is taking place at home (such as starting to work on building a house, raising Wesley and all our fun travels). There will be a new section that will be all things that I am craving for fashion. Somewhere that you can stop and find the next perfect bag for fall or the best sales that are going on. Lastly I couldn't stop doing what I love to do, which is putting outfits together. So I will continue to be doing outfit posts (my style). It also helps to have an excuse to get ready in the morning, otherwise sweatpants here we come. Still trying to figure out this whole "stay at home mom" thing.

Now can we please talk about how cute Wesley is in these pictures. I still can't believe how fast he is growing up. It has been a while since I have shared anything about him, he is now 8 months old. He is getting to the age where he is sitting so well and crawling everywhere. But one of my favorite things at this stage is that he can start to wear separates (like these camo pants), which means his little fashion is starting to be on point. I can't wait to continue to share his growth, sweet little eyes and his fun outfits.

It is fall and I am still gravitating towards ripped denim. Being a little boys mom I feel like I can get away with this trend even better now. Naturals are also going to be a go to for fall. I have worn so many bright colors in my day that I am ready to take a step back and blend in a bit. :)

Again i am so excited to be able to share the new site, name and content with all of you.

xoxo...beth & wesley

lace up everything is all over the place right now and is so cute. i have been dying to wear it all but being a new mom i can't go without a bra right now (i know TMI). so i was able to put a twist on how to wear a fun lace up dress with the help of adding a tshirt makes this look comfy but yet still chic. also be sure to sign up for tobi's emails and get 50% off your first purchase, you won't be disappointed.

speaking of being a mommy, wesley is getting so big & strong. he is starting to carry on a (make believe) conversation with me or with himself in the mirror. this mothers day, which was my first, he started to get his laugh. each day is a new adventure and i am loving every moment of it. 4 1/2 months going on being a grown man.
also thanks for excusing the fact that my baby weight is still is not gone. this week i am buckling down and really focusing on getting back into my pre baby shape, wish me luck! :)

so if you know me I really never liked ripped denim. over the past couple of months with not working and now being a new mother to a little boy, things have changed. I am starting to love a good pair of distressed denim and now own a pair in every color. they are so perfect for everyday wear but you can still dress them up if need be.
I traded in (just some) of my cocktail dresses for some mom comfy outfits, including these blank nyc denim!!
